Who we are

Where your information came from 

Most people reading this did not sign up on this website. 

If we contacted you, your details came from an application you made for life insurance through an agent affiliated with The Delaney Agency. We did not buy your information, and we did not get it from a list broker or a lead seller. 

What we collect 

From you directly. Your name, email address, mobile number, and anything you choose to tell us in a form or during a session. 

Session recordings. Sessions are held on Zoom and are usually recorded so your specialist can write your summary up accurately. You are asked at the start and you can decline. Recordings are used to produce your summary and for our own quality and training purposes. We do not use a recording of you in marketing unless you give us separate written permission. 

From your original application, through The Delaney Agency. Your name and contact details, the carrier and policy your application related to, and the agent who wrote it. 

From our messages. Whether an email was delivered and opened, whether a link was clicked, and whether a text was delivered. 

From sessions you book. The time you booked, which specialist you met, the notes and written summary produced from that session, and the recording of the session itself where one is made. 

Automatically from this website. Pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use Google Analytics for this. It tells us which guides are read and which pages people leave from. We do not use it to identify you individually.

Why we use it 

• To send you the educational content you asked for 

• To book, confirm and remind you about sessions 

• To prepare and send your written session summary 

• To answer questions you send us 

• To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful 

• To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations 

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to set prices.

Mobile information 

We do not sell or share mobile information collected for our messaging programme with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

Who else sees it 

• The Delaney Agency, LLC, and the licensed specialist who conducts your session 

• Service providers acting on our instructions. They may only use your information to provide that service to us, and they may not use it for anything of their own. They do these jobs: 

• Website hosting 

• Session booking and calendars 

• Video sessions and recordings 

• Keeping our client records 

• Sending our emails and text messages 

• Website analytics 

• Our own business email

The providers we use today are WP Engine, Calendly, Zoom, Wealthbox, Snappy Kraken and Bandwidth, which delivers our text messages, and Google. 

We change providers from time to time. When we do, the new provider does the same job under the same restrictions, and we update this list. 

• An insurance carrier, if you decide to apply for cover and ask us to submit an application on your behalf 

• Anyone we are legally required to disclose to, such as in response to a lawful request 

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with lead generators.

How long we keep it 

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the things described above, and for as long as the law and our regulators require us to. When we no longer need it, we delete it.

Your choices 

• Stop emails: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email 

• Stop texts: reply STOP to any message

We will respond within 30 days.

Your privacy rights 

Wherever you live, you can ask us to: 

• tell you what information we hold about you 

• correct anything that is wrong 

• delete what we hold, unless we are required to keep it 

• stop sending you marketing

Some states give their residents these rights by law and add others, including the right to appeal if we turn a request down. If you are in one of those states and we say no to something, tell us and we will look at it again. 

Security 

We use encryption in transit for information sent to and from this website. Access to your information is limited to people who need it to do their job. We review the security practices of the providers we use. 

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. 

Children 

This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. 

Changes 

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed. If we make a change that materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you.
